unicorns

The first description of a unicorn that anyone can find was written 2300 years ago by a greek docter named Ctsias. He callet the beast the "monoceros." (in greek, mono neans one and ceros means horn. Here is most of his research: There are in india certain wild asses wich are as large as horses or larger. Their bodies are white, their hed, and their heads dark red, and their eyes dark blue. They have a horn on the forehead wich is about a foot and half in length. The base of this horn, for some 2 hands' breadth above the brow, is pure white, the upper portion is sharp and of a vivid crimson, and the middle portion is black. The animal is exeedingly swift, so that no other creature can overtake it.
